I grew up on soccer. My dad played for Juventus in the Azores in the 1960’s before he came to America (for those of you that follow European soccer, it was a first division club back then sponsored by Italy’s Juventus F.C.) so it’s always been in the family. I started playing on soccer teams when I was about 5 years old, and kept playing throughout high school and college. Even though I’m older and don’t really play any more, I still love the sport and try to catch a soccer game on tv occasionally. It’s difficult to make time these days, so I’m really happy someone referred me to Soccer.tv – it’s got exhaustive stats on the players and teams as well as news and video highlights. I’m looking forward to World Cup 2010 (go Portugal!) and will be following the site to see their video coverage of the games.
