Earlier this summer, SXSW Interactive Festival accepted proposals for panels from the interactive community. We were excited when we got the news that two of the panel ideas we submitted had made it through the initial selection process.
Today begins step two and here’s where we need your help. You have the opportunity to vote for the panel proposals we’ve put together and the ones you’d like to see at SXSW Interactive 2011. We hope you’ll vote for both of these as well as any other panels you think are interesting.
As we are focusing on how .tv sites and online video in general are being used for educational purposes, this is the perfect time to highlight these proposals as they’re both educational in nature.
1) Using Online Video to Build Your Company’s Audience
With over 24 hours of video being uploaded every minute on YouTube and over 56 hours of video being uploaded per minute to lifestreaming sites such as UStream and Justin.tv, companies are starting to use videoblogs as a way of directly reaching out to new and existing customers.
This panel, full of experienced videobloggers and online video consultants, will walk through the steps of getting a company up and running in online video. The panel will also cover all of the different channels for online video that can be used by companies – from a Corporate Website to YouTube, Vimeo and lifestreaming services such as Qik and Justin.tv.
Companies will be able to apply what they have learned immediately and start their video blog that day. There will also be an online resource available with the panel presentation as well as articles, software and services that companies can use to make their online video presence the best it can be.
2) VideoBlogging: Go from Amateur to Outstanding
Do you have a video camera and a YouTube Channel – now what? This panel will be a “Master Class” in online video and teach the next steps in building momentum in the online video space.
Points covered by this panel may include: Do I need better equipment? Are production values important? How should I brand my content? How can I attract sponsorships and advertising? What’s the best ways of getting my content seen?
The panel will offer many of the tips and techniques video bloggers are using everyday to make videos for themselves and companies that they consult with. At the end of this panel, people will have actionable takeaways that can immediately impact their video production, make better content and be able to promote their work more efficiently. There will also be an online resource available to attendees with the panel presentation as well as articles, software and services that can be used to make their online video presence the best it can be.
If online video education is as important to you as it is to us, please take a few moments to sign up to vote. The process is simple and free.
