One of the great things about shooting video is that there is a million different ways to do it. It can be as simple as holding a cell phone in your hand up to a multi camera shoot with individual shooters and crew.

Recently, two authors, influencers and all around good guys that we like to follow online both shared behind the scene videos of their working set ups and we thought that by sharing them with you, you’d see that it doesn’t have to be overly complicated to create great video content.

First up is Steve Garfield. He literally wrote the book on making video called Get Seen: Online Video Secrets to Building Your Business. This video was one he shot for a client to show them what the video shoot was going to look like before they got there. We love the variety of different camera angles he has set up to add in variety to the final edit.

Next up is Chris Brogan. He speaks, writes and lately has been publishing a lot of great videos including the one below. We love his DIY creativity for taking care of pesky windows that were letting in too much light when he was shooting.

As you see, each of us approaches filming video differently.

We share these in the hopes that they will inspire you to start shooting more video.

Do you have a set up video like these? If so, send us a tweet or comment here, on our Facebook page or YouTube channel.. Perhaps if we get enough of them we will share a bunch of them in another post so that others can learn from you.

Stay tuned!

When asked why .tv, they said they use .tv because people expect there to be video attached to it and for it to be fun. So watch the video below to hear from the founders of one of the largest video sites on the web, Justin.tv.

This video features Chris Sheridan, Vice President of Sales for eNom, Inc. Those of you familiar with the domain industry will recognize Chris, as he has been an active participant in the space for well over ten years. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Chris in one form or another for most of that time (in the interests of full disclosure, Chris and I worked together at both Network Solutions and VeriSign), and I can tell you 3 things about Chris:

Chris drinks more red bull than any person on the planet I’ve ever met

Chris has a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding domain names, and is consistently on the road attending industry events and conferences – if you see him, be sure to go say “hi”. If you are interested, ask him about the time he was mugged by a kangaroo in Australia.

Chris is just as passionate about domain names and .tv as he was on the first day he started at Network Solutions way back in 1998.

This video features Bill Mushkin, CEO and founder of Name.com. Not only does Bill have expertise in domains as head of a registrar company that has a million names under registration; he actually speaks with authority having a background as a video producer. Bill honed his eye as a Photography Institute Fellow at NYU and holds a Bachelors in Philosophy as well as an MFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder before he joined the domain world.

In the video, he speaks to the changing world of video on the Internet saying “as video becomes easier to do and easier to put together, people will by definition have their own TV channel.” Watch this expert’s view of online video, .tv, and their great branding opportunities.

And, when not in the office, Bill can often be found riding one of his many vintage bicycles through the snow covered streets of Crested Butte, CO.
